Birthday Pressie from Field Force

adding to my collection of mahjong sets at home. =) i love anything that's pink.

Mambo - 8 Jun

thank you everyone for your well-wishes, especially to those who contributed to the "surprise". the night was a blast and i'm glad i survived! =) the crowd went crazy when djB dropped pokemon! we love him for his spontaneity and creativity.

sometimes, i wonder if i had missed someone who truly cares in this long process of waiting and i apologise if i had hurt anyone unknowingly. the need to protect myself had made me less trusting towards people. please remember i'm a true blue gemini.

2011年6月7日 没有王仕捷的第五百七十三天

Hong Kong Day 1 (2 Jun)

Back at favourite town this June with dearies. *loves* Dropped our luggage at the reception of The Long Beach as poor Shirleen had to cancel her leave for the day. Lunch was a BBQ Pork Pastry for me and Chicken Pie for Hazel from Pie & Tart - 大角咀奧運港鐵站.Absolutely yummy! Sorry for the lack of visuals. Promise to be back with a couple the next trip. Spent the rest of the afternoon shopping at Citygate Outlets, Tung Chung and Elements, Tsim Sha Tsui. Hazel had her 1st dosage of H&M.

Adidas – Citygate Outlets, Tung Chung

夏麵館 – Elements, Tsim Sha Tsui

Hunger pangs finally set in after all the retail therapy and we settled for the most convenient choice. Their 小笼包 was pretty good, better than Crystal Jade’s in my opinion, but still not comparable to Paradise Dynasty. *bleah*

Met up with Shirleen for a quick drink after dinner at Grappas (basement of Jardine House), and if you’re wondering, yes, that’s where her office is. Gotta work late and we went to collect the spare key to her apartment. And I declare that our dear Hazel is a closet alcoholic. She was suffering from a runny nose since we touched down and was miraculously cured after a strong bow. *winks*

Hong Kong Day 2 (3 Jun)

Breakfast at 金華冰廳 – Bute Street, Prince Edward

I was satisfied with the鲜油菠萝包 but couldn’t resist the temptation of savouring my favourite egg tart from 泰昌饼家.

Headed to 大埔大美督 for hike at八仙嶺. To no one’s surprise, my prophecy of us getting lost was self-fulfilled when we were on our way back to the starting point. All the fruitless walking was paid off by a passing police van. *grins* while we stopped by the road to check for directions on the mobile, the van u-turned and asked where we were headed for. Both Shirleen and I were distracted by this other police seated at the front passenger seat and did not answer. Needless to say, he’s cute! *laughs* Hazel tried to make a reply and broke the awkward silence. They moved off after we told them we’ll be fine finishing the rest of the journey on our own. 3 “lost” girls in different shades of pink, they must have labeled us as bimbos. Shortly after, I saw the same police van coming in our direction, was wondering if they turned back for us. And yes, I got my answer when they u-turned again and stopped on the other side of the road. This time, another police at the rear seat spoke to us, emphasized that it was gonna be a long walk and offered to give us a ride downhill. We had a discussion prior to seeing them again and concluded it was seemingly inappropriate and unsafe for us to hitch a ride. Rejected them firmly and the cute policeman gave a thumbs-up sign. He must have been coerced by the rest to turn back to offer their help. The four of us (including Gracie) always share such ridiculously hilarious encounters/moments, making them more special than ever to me. Arrived back at our destination sooner than we expected and super glad to find this at a mini mart.

Arizona Drink 680ml Can

Took a break by the dam to enjoy our drink and the beautiful scenery.

Made our way back to Mongkok where Hazel had her 2nd dosage of H&M. The place was super packed with an undoable fitting room queue. We grabbed a couple of items that need not be tried on and some accessories. This was probably the shortest stay we had at H&M with Hazel. *grins* headed home to put down our loots, wash up and get ready for dinner. Shirleen was so excited wearing a brand new outfit out, well-deserved break for her.

Dinner at新斗記 – Express by Holiday Inn, Sharp Street, Causeway Bay

Had drinks at Oriental Sake Bar, Yu-Zen – Circle Plaza, Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay. Cozy and quiet place with awesome concoctions.

Hong Kong Day 3 (4 Jun)

Decided to have a taste of local breakfast at nearby Olympian City. Hazel finally got to try glutinous rice, 2 in fact. Abandoned our hiking plan as the cab uncle didn’t understood where we wanted to go and we were running late. Went straight to Central for Hazel’s 3rd dosage of H&M and were amongst the first few customers in-store.

Finally decided to get the white dress which had a top I loved but a bottom not too perfect; price was the main push factor.

Presenting our common lingerie! Shirleen said it’s been ages since we bought similar stuff, and hence, we got this! *beams* went through loads to find a design we like with the right sizes, matching bottoms and good fit.

Totally in love with their egg tarts and soya milk.

Met up with Kee at Sheung Wan to buy dried foods (mainly scallops for Hazel’s mum). I ended up with 2 huge bottles of dried longans and loads of other sweet sour stuff, awesome buys. Knew my parents, especially my dad would love them. Kee went to grab his lunch and while waiting, Shirleen brought us to visit a French market and we bought a yummy cake of cheese at a good price. Managed to grab 許留山 before our next stop at Hullet House – Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui for cheese festival. Kinda disappointing as it wasn’t as grand as I expected it to be, and many of the cheeses were sold out or low in stock that we couldn’t try. Nonetheless, we’ve got 3 different cheeses for our platter for Sunday evening’s dine-in. Spent the rest of our afternoon lazing at the pool and Jacuzzi, life’s just great having their company. I almost forgot to add that one of the lifeguard was such an eye candy (to me at least). *bleah*

Pre-dinner dessert, also my birthday cake at Paul Lafayet – Hanoi Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Booked a late dinner as the place was packed, The Swiss Chalet – Hart Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui. The food’s great but a little pricey. Thank you dearies for the lovely dinner. *hugs* May I add that we successfully converted Hazel to like cheese fondue! Had one of the worst drinks ever at a place that I didn’t even bother to remember, terrible cocktails and pushy staff. *dislike*

Hong Kong Day 4 (5 Jun)

Got up early for a swim, in the hope of seeing my eye candy, but to my slight disappointment, he wasn’t at the pool. However, it was still a great workout for the intake of calories for the rest of the day.

Breakfast at 聯邦皇宮大酒樓 – Olympian City II, Hoi Ting Road, Tai Kwok Tsui

While on the way to take the light bus to Sai Kung, Hazel tried to resist the temptation of 許留山 as we passed by not 1, but 2 of the outlets. She finally caved in after Kee said that it was meant to be. *laughs* the light bus queue was horribly long, but we gave it a shot as there weren’t other better plans than to visit the beach. Frequency of the bus was pretty high and we managed to board one in less than 20 minutes.

Our Ferry Ticket to and fro Sharp Island

Pressie from Shirleen – Shell or Monster’s Eye?

Amazing View

Settled down on the beach and yet another “interesting” episode while the couple was away to explore the waters. It was a pet friendly beach and there were loads of dogs running freely. I’m totally ok with dogs and I love them, but not when they look the least bit friendly. There was this wet little one who came by and rubbed herself against me, obviously using my body as her towel and did the same to Hazel, and a huge one came by and I freaked out, wondering if he would do the same. The worst scenario came when this naughty thing peed on our mat and wet Shirleen’s backpack. Was really thankful when the both of them returned. To my surprise, Shirleen’s reaction wasn’t as dramatic – tired maybe? Had our tea break at Ali Oli Bakery Café – Sha Tsui Path, Sai Kung. Tried and love their Black/White Sesame Milkshake. Ordered pizza, garlic bread and salad at Paisano’s – Chan Man Street, Sai Kung to take away for dinner. Waiting time is an hour which landed us at yet another food chain.

Honeymoon Dessert – Po Tung Road, Sai Kung.

The queue for light bus back to Mongkok was 3 times worse than when we came. Kee stood in line for all of us while we waited a good 15 minutes past an hour at Paisano’s. Still, we only got on a bus half an hour after we joined him.

Cheese Platter

Pizza & Garlic Bread

Kee’s awesome home-made Cocktails

Hong Kong Day 5 (6 Jun)

Finally! Breakfast at 添好運點心專門店 – Fuk Wing Street, Sham Shui Po

We initially joined the superb long queue at Mongkok outlet which opens only at 10am. Shirleen called Sham Shui Po’s outlet and we immediately hopped onto a cab when they said we wouldn’t need to wait for long. Concluded that we prefer Sham Shui Po to Mongkok coz of the space, staff attitude and most importantly, similar quality of food (tho the radish cake was a little less nice). Nevertheless, still my favourite dim sum place.

Made a trip back to明華餅家 – Yin Cheong Street, Mongkok to get 老婆饼 and 核桃酥. Routed to the apartment before heading to Elements for last minute shopping, Hazel’s last dosage of H&M for this trip.

Accessories for the girls from H&M

Dresses for myself from Zara

Butt Toning Shoes for myself from Reebok (Marathon Sports – Olympian City II, Hoi Ting Road, West Kowloon)

Frutips Lychee, Mango and Apple Pastilles (7-Eleven)

Sad that we had to part. 5 days seemed to have flown past us. Loves spending time and doing silly things together. Hope to see you back home soon!

p.s. visiting Hong Kong reminds me of him. much as I want to stop the counter, I can’t coz i still do miss him.
